Ocean Boheme - Mikaela

I wrangled a newly minted Byronite Mikaela to continue the Ocean Boheme shoot.

Mikaela got in contact with me on Instagram a few months back about doing some work together, i was instantly drawn to her warmth and dazzling smile.

When the opportunity arose for another model to do the Ocean Boheme shoot, I asked Mikaela as I knew she would be keen and super fun to work with.

Having only worked with her once, I can say that she is a ray of sunshine that would light up any room and has a refreshing effervescence the exudes from every pore.

With a smile like that, who needs makeup

Ocean Boheme - Alex

A really cool jewellery company in the UK got in contact with me a few months back to create some content for them. Ocean Boheme is bespoke jewellery made from locally sourced seaglass in the UK.

I was lucky enough in this project to get my good friend Alex Bartlett to model for me; a crazy talented actress and marketer.

Getting to do underwater photography in fashion shoots is my favourite thing to do. You get awesome results and images that tend to not be run of the mill.

Photo’s with friends are the best of times

Roxy

Everything is coming up Milhouse!!!

A couple of months back, my friend Tahlia and I had a fun little shoot in the ocean where she was wearing a Roxy wetsuit. When I sent her the photos, she passed them onto a contact she had at Roxy and they got in contact with her asking for me and her to do a shoot for their new collection!!

From getting this client, we have been featured on their home page and mailing lists. Which hopefully means a lot more work with them in the future.

I’m just really proud of myself for putting my head down and committing 150% to the hustle!

Surf Sirens

At the beginning of March a few local girls and myself went out for a session at wategos, when the times were simple and the world was a little less chaotic.

These photo’s mean a little bit more to me than they did before, not because i can see that my photos (compensation/style/grading etc) are getting better but because it was from a period when we weren’t thinking about virus’ or isolating. All we had to think of on this day was how great the water clarity was, how awesome our friends are and why the heck I didn’t have spare batteries in my car!

Cherry Pop 2019

Drag has come to Byron!!!

I know from the rest of the site it seems that underwater photography is my no.1 but if you assumed this…YOU’D BE WRONG! Drag is my ride or die.

Ever since my mum showed me Priscilla Queen of the desert as a wee child, I’ve been obsessed with drag. Through the years Ru Paul has been a constant companion and once I became an adult, I could be found in drag clubs every weekend.

However, when I moved to a small country town the absence of a gay scene was pretty evident. So when Cherry Pop came to town, I jumped at the opportunity to take some pics.

Lore of the Sea Summer 2020

Over the last year, I have had the immense joy of shooting my bubbly/delightful friend Laure. She’s a magical little surfer and has such a rad surfwear brand.

On an early morning in January, Laure, Tarryn, Ro, Lucy, Jordy and I headed to a glassy beach break at Lennox head. Not expecting much in the way of swell, we were all filled with glee at the clean rides that were available.

Showcasing Laure’s latest collection, my favourite images from the day are below

Sparkly Mornings with Anita Ghise

One morning in the beginning of 2020, the darling Anita Ghise and I went for a sunrise frolic in the ocean. Trying out some new editing techniques, I really feel that this collection of photo’s was a bit of a step forward in my portfolio of work.

Anita wore some dresses and bikini’s of her own collection, including a vintage spell duster. This paired with the immense light flares, led to a sparkly morning full of magic.

Robina Pavillion

A few months back, I did a lovely event shoot at the newly designed Robina Pavilion. Full of lush hipster tones, this location is a lovely place to shoot.
